The recently enacted stimulus bill, the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act included a "Buy America" provision which requires that "none of the funds appropriated or otherwise made available by the Stimulus may be used for a project for the construction, alteration, maintenance, or repair of a public building or public work unless all of the iron, steel, and manufactured goods used in the project are produced in the United States." EJIW construction castings meet ARRA requirements and can be used on all jobs where stimulus monies have been allocated.
The American Association of State and Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and The American Society of Testing and Materials have set stringent performance and material specifications for gray and ductile iron castings.
