East Jordan Iron Works, Inc. Acquires Certain Assets of LeBaron Foundry Inc.
East Jordan Iron Works, Inc., an EJ Group® company, is pleased to announce effective October 31, 2008, it has acquired selected assets, including the name of LeBaron Foundry Inc.
LeBaron is the largest manufacturer of municipal and utility castings in the New England area and traces its roots to1855. In the past, they made cast iron stoves, hitching posts, and boilers. Around 1911, LeBaron started making manhole frames and covers for New England’s sewer and water lines. The foundry was solely owned and operated by the LeBaron family until it was sold in 1985 to a group of long-time employees. They continue to supply engineers, public works officials, contractors and architects with dependable casting solutions.
EJIW and LeBaron bring 280 years of industry experience and innovation to the Northeast. Located in Brockton, Massachusetts, LeBaron is the preferred brand in the New England area and will continue to provide high quality products supported by dependable and knowledgeable sales representatives. The combined product lines will be the most extensive available including state and municipal standard castings, utility construction castings, airport and port authority castings, trench grates, tree grates, detectable warning plates, access hatches, and paving riser rings. EJIW’s riser ring offering includes cast iron, steel and our new INFRA-RISER® multi-purpose rubber composite adjustment risers.
The foundry itself has not been acquired by EJIW. It will operate under a new name, Specialty Foundry, Inc. East Jordan Iron Works will be supported by Specialty Foundry to ensure product deliveries are handled promptly and efficiently.
