2007 GNR INFRA-RISER® Product Line

In 2007, EJIW purchased the INFRA-RISER® product line from GNR Technologies. Production of the EJIW
INFRA-RISER® Adjustment Risers has moved from Canada to our U.S. operations in Ohio. This product provides an excellent means to adjust castings to the final road grade surface, prevent water infiltration, reduce traffic vibration damage to manhole structures, and prolong the service life of your infrastructure.

2006 McCoy Foundry

In 2006, EJIW acquired the municipal casting business of McCoy Foundry and subsequently formed a new company, McCoy Construction Castings. McCoy Construction Castings supplies castings designed to meet the Ontario Provincial Standards, and is now selling EJIW products throughout Canada. McCoy Construction Castings has a new sales and distribution center located near Toronto, in St. George, Ontario.

2004 Norinco

In November of 2004, EJIW announced the acquisition of Norinco. Norinco is a world leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of ductile iron access covers and frames for all types of underground networks, including water, sewer, gas, telecommunications, and cable TV.
Norinco has sales and distribution facilities in France, Spain, Italy, England, Brazil, Germany, and Singapore. The corporate office is located at the foundry site at St. Crépin, France. Norinco provides innovative, high quality castings to infrastructure markets throughout the world, and offers important growth opportunities and long-term stability for EJIW.

2004 Inland Foundry Sales, Inc.
East Jordan Iron Works, Inc. acquired the assets of Inland Foundry Sales, Inc. effective April, 2004. Inland operated sales offices in Spokane, Seattle, and Eugene. Inland foundry sold grey and ductile iron municipal castings in Washington and Oregon, as well as in Montana, Idaho, and Alaska. After a transitional period, existing EJIW facilities began producing all municipal castings provided by these sales and distribution locations.This acquisition strengthens the EJIW customer base in Washington, complementing our current sales office in northern Seattle with sales offices in south Seattle and in Spokane. This acquisition also provides improved access to new markets for EJIW in the western United States.
2003 Allegheny Foundry Co.
East Jordan Iron Works, Inc. announced the acquisition of Allegheny Foundry Company in November of 2003. Allegheny sold municipal and utility castings in Western Pennsylvania and had been operated by the Heyman family since approximately 1921. Allegheny Foundry traces its roots back to 1880 and, in the past made castings and parts, machined for local needs and for customers such as railroads. In addition, they sold sash weights and counter weights, and in the 1930s started to make municipal and utility castings. Their customers include utilities, municipalities, and contractors.Allegheny Foundry Company operated a foundry in Bolivar, Pennsylvania, which is east of Pittsburgh. The foundry has not been acquired by EJIW and has closed. The sales & distribution staff continue to provide their customers with quality products and outstanding service. Castings formerly produced by Allegheny Foundry Company are made at existing East Jordan Iron Works, Inc. facilities.
2002 Andrews Metal Products

Acquired by EJIW in 2002, Andrews Metal Products in Youngstown, Ohio, has rolling capabilities and modern fabrication systems. They have been fabricating patented steel manhole risers, catch basin risers, and valve box risers since 1988 are fully qualified to provide numerous custom manufactured steel products, including steel grating and frames.
2002 Sather Manufacturing Company
Acquired in January 2002, Sather Manufacturing Company, Inc. was purchased from its former owners, brothers Jack and Jody Heath. Barton and Elizabeth Sather founded the business in 1946; the Heath family bought into the operation in 1951 and owned it entirely by 1958. Sather had been producing and selling construction casting to the western Washington area and Oregon emphasizing superior customer service. EJIW purchased the inventories, patterns, customer list, and outstanding orders and hired several (all) of the sales employees. The sales operations were relocated from the Everett, WA location to its present day Maryville, WA distribution yard in July 2002.2001 C&C Supply
In the summer of 2001 EJIW acquired C & C Supply, Inc. Located in Commerce City, CO, C & C began operations in 1985. C & C sold casting valve box parts, riser rings and some heavy castings serving the Denver and Colorado markets. Specialty items such as custom grating, chase plates and handrail were built in their steel fabrication shop. Today EJIW continues to operate the fabrication shop and supply the Colorado markets with quality castings made in the USA.2000 Cavanagh Foundry Limited

EJIW purchased Cavanagh Foundry Limited in the Spring of 2000. Cavanagh Foundry Ltd has operated an iron foundry in Birr, Ireland for over 200 years. Incorporating modern manufacturing technology, Cavanagh is a leading manufacturer and supplier of high quality ductile iron manhole covers, gratings and frames to the construction, water, civil engineering, telecommunications, cable TV and energy industries of Ireland. They also supply a wide range of complementary products.

2000 Southern Foundry Company
Southern Foundry Company is located in Apex, North Carolina, which is southwest of Raleigh, North Carolina. The foundry dates back to 1925, and was the most recently owned by Marion Bowman, President, whose father purchased the foundry in 1945. The foundry manufactured municipal castings until 1984, when a fire destroyed the plant and equipment. Southern Foundry continued to be the primary supplier of castings in the Raleigh market by purchasing and distributing castings from other foundries.1998 Western Iron Works

Western Iron Works, Inc. was founded in 1923 in San Angelo, Texas. Western Iron Works, Inc. became the principal supplier of construction castings in Texas and the southwestern United States. When the foundry became inoperable in September 1998, EJIW purchased the inventories, catalog, customer lists, orders, trademarks, patterns and the licensed name of Western Iron Works, Inc.
1997 Higgins Foundry
Higgins Foundry Company operated an iron foundry in Atlanta, Georgia, from 1919 until 1982. When the foundry closed in 1982, Higgins purchased construction castings resale from Vulcan Foundry Corporation. Higgins was the primary supplier of drainage products and construction castings for the greater Atlanta marketplace. Products: manhole covers, trench and inlet grates, meter boxes and covers, valve and curb boxes, fiberglass and polymer concrete trench drain systems.1996 Dewey Brothers
Dewey Brothers, Inc. was a gray iron foundry founded in 1885 in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Dewey Brothers, Inc. was a major manufacturer of construction and utility castings for the North and South Carolina markets. When the foundry ceased operation in 1996, East Jordan Iron Works, Inc. acquired its name, patterns and production tooling.1995 Vulcan Foundry

Founded in 1965, Vulcan Foundry was one of the first semi-automated construction casting producers in the deep south. Originally built to serve the Louisiana market, the company rapidly expanded its product line, producing made-to-order castings to meet local specifications used across the southern United States. The owners of the company were also the founding leadership of the Municipal Castings Fair Trade Council, which is still active today in the fight against unfair trade practices by foreign foundries.
1993 B&C Utility Supply
Founded in 1958 as Richard Foundry Sales by Charlie Burrier. In 1973, Charlie Burrier and Dick Cramer formed B & C Utility Supply. Charlie and Dick had previous experience in the foundry business since 1946 and 1953 respectively, giving B & C experience to develop into the leading distributor of castings in Maryland, Delaware, Washington DC, Northern Virginia and Southern Pennsylvania. Products: manhole covers, trench and inlet grates, meter covers and vaults, valve and curb boxes, gabions and polymer concrete trench drain.1968 The Madison Foundry Company
Established in Cleveland in 1893, The Madison Foundry Company specialized in manufacturing a multitude of municipal casting designs for area cities and the Ohio Department of Highways. EJIW acquired Madison Foundry patterns and production tooling when the company closed in 1968. This acquisition allowed EJIW to enter the greater Cleveland market and expand sales throughout Ohio in subsequent years.
